Located at the heart of Babylon Eco Centre, The Kitchen is a vibrant and welcoming restaurant set on the edge of the Ashdown Forest. We serve simple, seasonal, and elegant food using local ingredients whenever possible—often straight from our kitchen garden and greenhouse.

The role

We’re looking for a creative, experienced Chef to join our small team. Whether you’re seeking full-time work or regular part-time hours, this is a fantastic opportunity to cook thoughtfully, contribute creatively, and work in a beautiful, nature-rich setting.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver a seasonal brunch menu and daily lunch specials
• Collaborate with the team on prep, service, and day-to-day kitchen operations
• Contribute to menu development using fresh ingredients from our kitchen garden and local suppliers
• Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation and cleanliness
• Help create a warm and memorable dining experience that reflects Babylon’s ethos

About you

• At least 1 year of experience in a professional kitchen
• A genuine passion for seasonal cooking and quality produce
• Strong attention to detail with a creative and flexible approach
• Clean, organised, and efficient
• A great team player with a positive, can-do attitude
• Able to work at least one weekend day
