We have an award-winning restaurant, home & lifestyle retail area and a plant nursery where the focus is on growing and selling plants that are useful and beautiful.
Job title: Retail Manager
What we need:
We are looking for someone to shape and develop our retail area. We want it to showcase horticultural excellence alongside our ecological ethics and BCorp principles, championing sustainability, community and wildlife.
We want our retail area to look amazing and to inspire our customers, giving them ideas and knowledge to take home with them alongside their purchases. But it’s not just about sales, it’s about being part of our Babylon team and being part of the special experience we are creating and nurturing here.
What the ideal candidate will bring:
The ability to work closely with the owners and head of horticulture to establish a renowned plant nursery and destination.
To help develop a comprehensive retail offering, with a wide selection of plants and all the essentials needed to care for these.
A passion to drive sales whilst maximising sustainability and minimising our ecological footprint.
Qualifications
Ideally you’ll have some of the following qualifications and experience:
- Three years experience in a managerial role within the garden centre industry including data management, EPoS systems and visual merchandising
- RHS Level 2 training or equivalent
- A passion for horticulture, a commitment to ecological principles and a drive to stay ahead of industry trends.
- A true team player mentality, understanding that nurturing the team is as vital as nurturing plants, customers and the environment.
