Nestled underneath a canopy of wisteria is The Kitchen, serving a seasonal menu six days a week.
We are passionate about seasonal, local, delicious food and try to use local ingredients wherever possible. We source as much as we can from our kitchen garden and greenhouse and only use free range, locally sourced meat and eggs.
Our menu is small, freshly prepared and uses high quality ingredients. Every week, our chefs create a beautiful range of lunchtime specials using the very best of what is available.

Our menu is based around seasonal ingredients treated with respect and our chef Alex is passionate about supporting local farmers, growers and suppliers to create simple, elegant food.
We are proud to be growing our own vegetables from our kitchen garden and the best crop each day will always be featured on our regularly changing specials menu.
Our friendly team is headed by Alex Von Riebech who was the Chef proprietor of The Limetree Kitchen (the top rated restaurant in Lewes). Alex’s long-term sous chef Jan, brings an equal amount of passion to The Kitchen. Together their love of cooking and attention to detail will make your experience at Babylon a memorable one.
If you just want a hot drink and a slice of cake then we also serve a selection of locally sourced cakes and slices. Perfect in the sunshine on our terrace and outside seating area.
