New chefs in training!

On Saturday 8th March a small group of eager chefs gathered at Babylon for the first instalment of our beginners cookery course.

Alex (our head chef ) soon put everyone at ease with his friendly and relaxed teaching style. Lots of laughs and fun from the outset meant that it was easy for the participants to feel confident and get cracking in the kitchen – literally as the first dish was ‘posh scrambled eggs’!

The diverse range of meals included chicken stew, soup, chocolate pots and more. All of which the students were able to take home with them to share (and hopefully impress) their friends and family.

Some lovely feedback from the class:

Alistair making chocolate pots.
Chocolate pots in the making!
James deep in concentration making chicken casserole.
Making the dumplings for the chicken casserole.

This was the first in a series of four beginners cookery classes, with lots more planned for different styles and types of cooking as well as intermediate and masterclasses for more experienced cooks.

Chopping garlic the chefs way!
Nick and his lovely dumplings.
